The SS Coracero was a British Cargo Steamer of 7,252 tons built in 1923. She was formerly owned by Coracero Steam Ship Co. (Donaldson Bros. & J.Black & Co.), Glasgow., 1927 Donaldson South American Line Ltd., and finally the owners when she was sunk, 1940 Donaldson Line, Glasgow
She was bombed and damaged in Avonmouth Dock, 4/5 January 1941, 1 crew killed
On the 17th March 1943 when on route from BUENOS AIRES , VALPARAISO & NEW YORK for LIVERPOOL as part of convoy HX.229, carrying a cargo of 5758 tons refrigerated meat & mail. She was torpedoed by German submarine U-384 and sunk. 5 crew were lost.
